2 walls joined by an intermittent cavity ??
Interesting construction,
must have a function.
And the window light in a 'Cross' shape ...
deliberate do you think
or just bits dropping off?

great shot

Oh, that is a purposeful construction. It was a castle’s wall, so there was some space for a defending soldier to use bow or dropping weapons the outer hole had to be as small as possible in order not to be hit and as big as needed to be alble to aim well. This shape was often used, later, when firearms became wider spreat, they took a keyhol-like shape.
