Metzgerei Hübner

Metzgerei Hübner
Time seems to have stopped during the first half of the 20th century here--except for the two futuristic cars in the foreground ...

Pappenheim also has a rich Jewish history. The house on the right was built in 1849 by a Jewish merchant named Abraham Reutlinger. The sign on its wall, just at the edge of this photo, says that it was built in AM 5608 (the Jewish calendar counts the years starting with the creation of the world).

(This photo is also available on Flickr, together with a few more shots from that little town. I intend to keep posting my photos mostly there and occasionally copying one or two to Ipernity.)
