I planted a number of Budlea's in my Backyard to attract butterflies. They've been in bloom for weeks, but no visitors. But last weekend this guy finally found his way to them.

BTW: he's sitting on a Yucca flower here, but he drank some nectar from the Budlea's first :-)

Is it just my imagination or is there a twinkle in his eyes?

Ik hoop het ook. Vorig jaar was ook al zo'n slecht vlinderjaar, het jaar daarvoor was juist een heel goed vlinderjaar.

Het is maar goed dat mijn interesse veel breder is dan alleen maar vlinders :-)
