Record in Swimming!
Anna-Carin Nordin, 40 years old, swam from Eckerö in Åland Island/Finland to Grisslehamn/Sweden.
It took her 14 hours and 48 minutes to swim those 43 km. At some points the water temperature was 12 degrees Celsius and she felt almost like giving up, but she didn't!
On August 12th, 1938 Sally Bauer swam between Grisslehamn and Åland.
I was lucky to be nearby...had just arrived to Grisslehamn from Eckero Island/Finland on a cruiser.
