goose quill detail of the nip

goose quill detail of the nip
I tried writing with a goose feather that I found lying around the other day. It turned out to be surprisingly easy.

I tried it without learning anything about how it is done. In the meantime I read up and apparently the tip should be tempered to last longer. - But as a one-off trial it works well enough without tempering. The curious thing is that it turns out that I preferred to write with the slit, pointed tip down on the paper. Maybe that was due to my inapt cutting.
