This is a detail of the effigy of Sir John Thornbury in All Saints church, Little Munden, Hertfordshire. He died in 1396 and is buried next to his wife. He is wearing a bastinet (a type of helmet) with chain mail.

The variety of orchid is called "Ellen". They are very small flowers but very pretty. They don't last very long, but are lovely when they are in flower. Pentax K-3, SMC Pentax "K" 55mm f/2 lens, Pentax No. 1 extension tube.
