Hamburg has got some snow in 2014

Hamburg has got some snow in 2014
Yes, we call it snow (you will see it on the roofs, won´t you? And at the bridge! And at the other side of the bridge, right, in the leaves!). Not that much, but it has snowed. Well.. ;-)

In the back you see the "Christianskirche (Klopstockkirche)" which was constructed 1738 - de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianskirche_(Ottensen) - in foreground a (nameless) bridge above "Kaistraße" in Hamburg Altona.

Hopefully there will be some more snow this winter. I was on a long photo - walk (about five hours) today. Mostly I shot photos from the Esso-houses - areal, but as I´m already on the move I went some other areas, too. Walking at Elbe was great in these weather - conditions because it wasn´t flooded with many other people like during summer so you can easely shot some photos from large areas without a human which will be impossible when it was not this could. Well - it was just around -6°C, but feels much colder because of high humidity (89%) and some wind 22 km/h).

Well, after these five hours even me feel chilly - you must know because of my autism I tend to be very selective about my clothing, and so I went outside always with a summer jacket (oh, google-translate is telling me- in swedish it was "Sommerjacke", too, like in german?). This casually won´t be a problem because Hamburg has mostly mild climate conditions, so I won´t feel cold or became ill about that- I mostly won´t be cold whatever the temps are - but today even I want to go back home because it feels like -20°C because of the wind and huminity. Pretty freezing...

So please - let it snow - but give me some dryer conditions - mostly because it doesn´t feel this cold then, but secondly because I want to take a photo of "Köhlbrandbrücke" - commons.wikipedia.org - which I should have seen if I look left from this point... but can´t because of the fog. So this little one was a substitute object for it. ;-)

Oh, Hamburg is mostly a city about services, not so much about industry (if you think about fabrics etc.). Well, and harbour, we have one of the biggest container-terminals of europe (behind Rotterdam), but most industry was located south of the Elbe river, I photograph mostly northern of it, where the main part of Hamburg was.
If you want to see this kind of industry you have to google-maps to "Hamburg Steinwerder" or "Hamburg Waltershof" (with these large areas for containers, but as I said, it´s south of Elbe). If you switch to a wider view you will recognize that this 1.8 Mio - city at first looks mostly greenish.
The photo on this side was made close to the center of the last link. if you view left from the big "Hamburg" - sign you will see street number "4", then "Altonaer Fischmarkt", that´s the location.

I live at "St. Pauli" which is top-left from the big "Hamburg"- sign. Casually there wasn´t any industry inside living-areas, they are mostly seperated. If you want to see "typical industries" for Hamburg you may have a look in my "harbour/port" - album (or, well, cranescapes as a typical viewpoint of it).

Yes, pretty wide but a nice arch - which gives it a very nice (graceful?) look. Well, because only pedestrian are allowed on it it hasn´t to be this massive which would disturb their light rounded look.
Thank you for your comment, P.G.M and Tanjica.

First congrats with your snow, but always with a summer jacket, brrr, damp coldness is shivering coldness, it is like that here before the sea gets frozen.
The bridge makes the picture, like it has got a certain speed.

Well, I don´t feel this coldness. My family telling me sometimes my skin "is cold like an block of ice" or "something inside must be a fire burning", but that´s the same during summer - I don´t go outside in T-shirt, I always wear this item I wear during winter. As long I don´t get a common cold there doesn´t need anything wrong it it (beside of strange looking to others which are wearing at least a muffler/scarf during the same time).
As a kid I wanted to go outside in T-shirt because I don´t see any reason for something more, but my parents veto against it and demanded to waer at least a thin sweater... which was OK.
After looking to photos some years ago showing me in during my younger ages I seem to be around 2007 the last time I wear something more specific for winter, since then I do not own another jacket like I wear outside since then - the same model, but in 3 different colours, and 6 items in total.

And I´m afraid of the day I can´t wear my sweatjacket anymore because they are in pieces because of to many washingmachine- circles... It will need some time before I went comfortable with the new cloth touching my skin because of sensory susceptibility...

LOL, if it "snows" like this, or a little more, in Lisbon, they call it a blizzard on the news!!! Everyone gets so excited:-))

LOL, OK, Lisbon was a little bit more south, but here we expect a little bit more snow during winter (but haven´t got some until now). Not that much as Wierd will got (or expect), but even more than for the moment... :o) Usually we should have enough rain for it coming from the northern sea, but for the moment it won´t be until Monday. It´s always below 0°C, during night around -8°C, so it´s cold enough for snow. It simple need some water coming down... ;)

The sky definitely looks as if more snow is coming. We're expecting some here too, finally. Can't wait to see the world covered in white!

You should play lottery. I just have to wait until it´s daylight outside - but now we really have a serious amount of snow (something around 5 cm during the last night).
