Honey Bee on Coreopsis Flower

Honey Bee on Coreopsis Flower
Taken in my garden. I love the way the bee is right in the centre of the flower............I imagine it's saying "this is my pollen, I found it first and I'm staying here until it's all collected........Now buzz off..!!"

It's pretty well camouflaged as well :-)) Please view large for best effect!

Jörg, ROL/Photo, Nouchetdu38, Colin Ashcroft and 20 other people have particularly liked this photo

My thoughts about what the bee is 'thinking', too!

It is as though it was modelling for you Keith, with a perfect pose :-) Really beautiful detail and colour, even in the dying flower in the right hand corner. I'm not familiar with this flower. It does look pretty, and your garden must be looking good and colourful now.

It stayed there for ages Rosa, so you could be right! I'm pleased you like the photo. The flower is another that we don't remember planting. About three years ago we bought a lot a wildflower seeds and just threw them over the garden........nothing happened much the first two years, but this year we have lots coming up........I'm assuming they were part of that batch.

The garden is looking pretty colourful at the moment, but there's not as many insects about as there used to be........maybe it's a bit early yet.

I planted a Buddleia Flutterby, which is a petite plant, in hope of attracting more butterflies this year. A bit of settled weather might help bring the bugs in.

Good idea Rosa...............you should do alright with it............. there's a reason Buddleias are called butterfly bushes.
