Fallen Leaf

Fallen Leaf
I had a wander round Highland Road Cemetery in Southsea, Hampshire yesterday. I didn't find much that caught my eye but there were quite a few dead leaves (appropriate for a cemetery). This Horse Chestnut tree leaf was one of them. I placed it on a gravestone to as to have a tidy, textured background and added a frame.

I think it looks better viewed large, on black :-)

Gudrun, Jan, trester88, autofantasia and 25 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very nicely presented. Looks like a chestnut leaf. Don't be sad, next year they bloom again so beautifully: www.ipernity.com/doc/524691/41957292

Such beautiful shades of autumn in this one leaf. I like your framing and somehow that crack in the stone looks good too!

A bit dead quiet there Keith so Auto suggestion must have lead you to create this great autumnal image, I like the grey granite background, that and the dead leaf compliment each other nicely.

SQUEEEEEE!!!! Oh KEITH!! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! The textures! The details! The colors! the composition! Your framing! What a marvelous masterpiece of a shot! LOL, you know what a fiend I am for leaves, heh. I have to say, you were on my mind so often when we were on our trip. One place in particular was the site of Oregon's first seat of government at a place called Champoeg. The campground there was just amazing to me because everywhere were these incredibly huge, old trees that just knocked my socks off. Maples and Oaks, but many others that I couldn't recognize. Totally stellar and so grand and OLD! (well such substantial trees like that are uncommon where we live!) I need to process some of the pictures I captured, it was such a cool place! But the reason I was specifically thinking about you was because of the English Ivy that I found all over the place there. Crawling up tree trunks, along chain-link fencing, carpeting whole areas in the forests. I managed to get a few super shots and I'll post them when I can. I cannot help but think of you whenever I see pictures of ivy because you've taken so many outstanding images of them! :)
