I remember visiting Southsea sometime in the 50s. We had not long moved from St.Andrews in Fife down to Farnborough in Hampshire and I was desperate to see the sea again. What a disappointment the pebble beach was, but I loved the Guinness Clock. Still - at least I managed to swim there. I'll bet it's more crowded now in this spell of exceptionally hot weather, which has luckily broken down here and now, and we have thunderstorms and buckets of rain.

The pebbled beach is what makes it so popular with people Amelia............no sand in your sandwiches or between your toes (and other awkward places) :-)) It's gets really busy in good weather, despite the social distancing rules, but theres normally plenty of room to walk along the prom. HFF. A perfect composition and so lovely and summery. I think our heatwave may be over here and I can't say I'm sorry. The east coast has reverted to fog and thunder is threatened.

Love the colors, lines and the grouping of the people, Keith. Even the sky cooperated with streaks of clouds mirroring the pedestrian crossing lines ;)

HFF and a great weekend, although the heavy overnight rain has left it warm and humid over this side of the land.

I think, the fence at this point is important. If there were no fence the pedestrians would walk straight ahead and fall into the water. :-)))
