Daffodil

Daffodil
Another daffodil I'm afraid...........but I liked the way this one is towering over the others!

Special K, Tanja - Loughcrew, Andy Rodker, Annemarie and 16 other people have particularly liked this photo

Glad you like this one Jean. I managed to get this one in between the pouring rain in the morning and the pouring rain in the evening! It's rained every day since :-(

I never complain at seeing daffodil pictures Keith. This is beautiful, showing lovely detail, which I find difficult to get when photographing a group of them. I am thinking of getting a macro lens to hopefully take better close-up flower and insect shots.

Thanks Rosa. When I was a Nikon user I used the Nikon 105mm macro lens which was superb. It's quite expensive though.................if you don't mind buying second hand, have a look at MPB. I've had quite a few items from them and they're easy to deal with: www.mpb.com/en-uk/?gclid=CjwKCAiAhc7yBRAdEiwAplGxX66pPApmcTKSdrXjG4NVVGEzwC_0OJnnerA2xkEm_23B8MiBbEZAYhoCNzAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thank you for the link Keith. The two extra lenses that I have bought were second hand.

Daffodils
by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed'and gazed'but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Thanks for this Annemarie. I know the poem of course (we had to study it at school) but people often forget there is more that one verse!

I suspect we may be in for a late winter this year. Nature seems very confused :-)
