Pipeline

Pipeline
Taken earlier today at the RSPB Nature Reserve, Pagham Harbour, West Sussex. A very cloudy day, but dry and pleasantly warm.

Best viewed large, on black. Thank you.

Ernest CH, Diane Putnam, Eunice Perkins, Andy Rodker and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

I like the pipeline too. Looks quite attractive. Does it function as a bridge too.

Thanks Jean...............the pipeline does look good from a distance. Not so good close-up. It can't be used as a bridge..........unless you happen to have been a tight-rope walker in a previous life ;-)) I certainly wouldn't try it..........I'm not sure it would take my weight..!!

Thank you Wilhelm..............I always value your comments. The pipeline has been there for years and I think it has something to do with flood water management, so nothing too intrusive.

un bel endroit ... pourvu que le pipeline n'ait pas de fuite de produits dans la nature ...

Thanks Anne-Marie.........I'm pretty sure the pipeline carries nothing but water!

Tranquil and beautiful! I wouldn't have recognised the pipeline at first sight, the construction looks just like a bridge. Lovely reflections and the swan is in just the right place:-)

Thanks Gudrun. I was struggling to find a decent shot to be honest - it was the pipeline and the swan that provided some interest.

Gudrun is right, it looks so tranquil and a swan or two always makes a scene even more beautiful. I really like the flatness and depth of field too.

It looks so peaceful. Just the sort of place to release life's tensions!

Exactly right Eunice. We had a slow wander around, then spent some time just sitting on a bench watching the world go by!

That is sublimely idyllic, Keith! I was confused, then amused, by the perceived of scale. For a split second my thought was, 'wow, a gigantic swan,' then flipped to, 'hey, a miniature bridge." Lol!

Ha, ha...........I hadn't even noticed that Diane. Glad you like it though ;-)
