Hull Fair Waltzers....Bopping to Brenda Lee

Hull Fair Waltzers....Bopping to Brenda Lee
X The last post may have been muted and subtle, this one is not. Its Hull Fair week, every October a part of hull becomes transformed by lights and music. It is still apparently the largest travelling fair in Europe. As for the picture it’s probably technically awful. In my defence it’s hard on a camera to cope with the bright lights of hundreds of rides and though I carried a tripod it was far too busy to use it; so the shot is hand held with no flash so it is a bit of a mess. I hope however it captures a sense of the fair.
The title is a line from a song called “some old salty” by the late Lal Waterson a great songwriter who for many years was part of the Hull singing family The Watterson’s. When I was a teenager in the sixties we used to get up and dance on the waltzers not perhaps to Brenda Lee but to the Stones....wild times.
