The Kids Are Alright!

The Kids Are Alright!
This week in SSC:

'Animals in black and white"

I happened to catch these kids at dinnertime on Wednesday. I think they're actually pygmy goats. They belong to my neighbors. I'll add another one below that I got on Thursday at a different neighbor's house. I didn't realize we had so many goats in the neighborhood! :))

...and for Sight and Sound:

"The Who" from their album "My Generation" (1965)

Goats are nosy and cheeky, one ate the buttons off my aunt's jacket once;-) Excellent mono captures with nice strong contrast.

Danke, Gudrun. They really are. I had goats growing up and they could be so cute and funny but dangerous too. One butted my pregnant sister in the stomach once. Luckily she was okay. I like seeing them from a distance now myself. :)

Lovely animal pictures. Nobody around here keeps goats, but when we had the farm a neighbour kept them for a while - they were always finding ways to escape.

Thanks, George. Oh yes, they are great escape artists and so strong too. And they will eat all your flowers and trees in a very short time. They're great if you need your land cleared. :))

I love goats, I have a friend who raises Algarvian goats, they are free in the serra, and back "home" every night.

I had to look them up and they are really pretty goats with some interesting horns.

This scene really suits the mono treatment, Super detail and a great range of tones. Love the expression of the one posing for you, Karen :-) A spot-on musical match. A goodie from way back then!

Thank you, Karen, for posting to Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music

Thank you, Roger. That's high praise and I really appreciate it. :)

It's so interesting to see Roger Daltry with short hair. I always think of his curly locks.

WONDERFUL!! Great pictures, both of them! We have zillions of goats around here, I simply adore them! They make me laugh with their silly antics. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Janet. They are silly animals and I've known some with a good sense of humor. I love the kids especially.

Good shot with that lens. You need a steady hand or a tripod, and the light from an arc welder to make sure there is enough light for it. Good, clear exposure.

Lol, thanks,Pappy! :D

I can thank the amazing image stabilization in my G9. You can get some great low light hand held shots with this camera. The reach of this lens is worth trying.

Puchinpappy club has replied to Karen's Place club
I have that lens. I will be interested to see how your handheld results go while getting closer to 300mm. If the G9 can handle that while handheld, I will be duly impressed.

Nice shot, Karen! Everytime I think of a funny saying to describe your picture, that also happens to be a song title, you have already picked that same song I was thinking of! We must have a very similar taste in music. Did you ever see The Who's movie called "The Kids Are All Right?" Great film.

Karen's Place club has replied to HaarFager club
I think we do, Kenny. It's funny how that happens. :)

I never did see that movie, only "Tommy".
