Please Tiptoe through the Tulips with Toots! :)

This is my grandma Toots (her nickname) circa 1967 in the Skagit Valley, Washington tulip fields. She and my grandpa were here on a visit from Michigan where they lived.

She had a sense of humor/humour so I'm sure she would appreciate this video clip from the same era of the wonderful Tiny Tim and his performance on the Rowan and Martin's Laugh In show with Dick Martin. I think this aired outside the USA so hopefully some of you might remember it too. (Cameo appearances by Judy Carne and Goldie Hawn.)

Listen here: Tiptoe Through the Tulips

(It's the only link there is so if it doesn't work, I'm sorry.)

ColRam, Roger Bennion, Indycaver (Norm), mixpix have particularly liked this photo

On first sight I thought, the image was taken in Holland, the home of the tulip breeders.
The song made me smile. Like it very much. A good example to become famous with a queer treatment, a quirky voice and a Ukulele.

It's our own little "Holland" here Norbert.

Tiny Tim was so different for the times and I didn't know this until now that he also had a much deeper singing voice as well as his falsetto. Interesting person. Thanks for you thoughts Norbert.

I've never forgotten this song, since I saw Tiny Tim on the legendary German Beat-Club in the 60s and still own a black and white vid from that time.

They use to show scenes of the Judge driving around on the show. Paul Revere and the Raiders are singing on that commercial.

I recognized the band, but had to ask my husband about the car. He does remember it and said his brother even had a horse named "Judge" after the car lol I remember Sami Davis Jr. being the "Judge" on Laugh In, but don't remember that car at all. There was so much going on on that show. Crazy times!

Yes ... lots going on in that show! :-) The Judge (car) was named after the routine Sammy did and showed up after the first season. It often was used as an intro to Sammy's routine later. The Monkees had a scene where their 1966 GTO would drive back and forth and they did the same thing on Laugh In with the 1969 and 1970 Judges.

Memories, memories, memories :-) I used to watch all the Rowan and Martin's Laugh In shows :-) And, I can't believe that Tiny Tim's record was released some 43 years ago....really does seem like just yesterday :-) A brilliant and such an entertaining entry to 'Soundtrack to Life'. I shall now be humming this song all evening. Not in a high pitched tone though.......don't want to upset the puss cat :-) A faved combination and thank you for posting , Karen :-)
