Minnesota Power, (rural) Pillager, MN
Something I haven't seen before. A three phase transformer bank rigged up on a 34.5 kV three wire transmission line. Note the primaries are in delta. The only time I've seen Minnesota Power run anything off a transmission line are cap banks and other company owned equipment. This appears to power something at on the grounds at Sylvan Dam. This must be a recent addition.

AstroElectric, Power Lines, Jesse Lor have particularly liked this photo

That construction is identical to new Xcel 34.5kV!

Really? I know Xcel was using a similar spec near me for a while, but they were using those grey pintypes (forget what they are?) more than 10 years ago, and more recently and polymer type posts. The only time I've seen posts like above on Xcel's system is in the "shorter" 34.5 kV spec. Now they are using those crappy brown arms and ugly polymer.

Those cutouts look a little small for 34.5. I'd be a bit more comfortable using the next size up.

Love the big bushings on those cans though! They remind me of the funky 46kV and 27.6kV distribution transformer setups I've seen over the years.
