Stitched from three shots

---
The ox, flinged from the castle was probably roasted here.

This fireplace sports an interesting clockwork mechanism for turning the roast (though it probably can't be used for an ox). I got no idea how old the mechanism is, but it looks quite timeworn. Check it out in original size.

And while at it, also check out the elaborate kitchen sink under the window. :-)

The glass-covered box in the middle wasn't a part of the original kitchen. It's a sort of see-through manhole cover, preventing the visitors to fall or climb down the hole.

Namely kitchen was built on (or maybe carved out of?) solid rock, but there's a shaft in the floor, under this cover, leading down. Probably another emergency exit if the castle was stormed. Now it's partially filled up with rubble, so it isn't quite clear, how far down it descended originally. Possibly even to the caves below the castle, where the stables were.
