Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters

Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters
A picture from archives (2014) The cliff here is subject to erosion and I would be surprised If the houses are still there. (best viewed large please)

The cliffs are owned and managed by the National Trust.

HFF everyone Have a safe and healthy weekend!

A splendid capture of familiar place John. I was here in 2009 but can't remember seeing it quite like this. Well done.

Theoretically the houses could be protected by a heavy wall?

If they are still there the people in the last house must be nervous by now. Well captured John. HFF and have a good weekend

The erosion is very clear, John. The brown fence, at the very least, looked threatened in this 6 year old photo.

They are still there. I was there last weekend. There have been big rock falls nearby and at Seaford Head. I saw a news report showing an idiot climbing round the end of the fence that runs from the cottages to the cliff edge. It's amazing what people will risk.

This looks critical, and I would agree that these houses are no longer there. We have watched erosion take homes and caravan parks on the Norfolk coast.
