Brown Pelican in B&W

Brown Pelican in B&W
As many of you know I shot exclusively in B&W for over 15 years. Having my own wet process darkroom afforded me the ability to fine tune the printed image to my liking and not that of some processing lab. I spent many long hard hours, often until well past 2 or 3 AM processing B&W images made with my large format 4X5 field camera.

So that brings us to the present…no wet process lab, although I still have that great little camera, which is for sale BTW. I now shoot exclusively in digital, both in Color and in Super Color Infrared. Converting a digital color image into a striking B&W image is quite easy and rivals that of my 4X5 B&W negatives. Removing all but a little hint of color makes for a very striking image IMHO.Here there is just a hint of pint around the bird's eye.

My new Facebook Page for my B&W images is up, www.facebook.com/JMWNaturesImagesBlack.White

This is striking. I was reminded of a fine Pen and Ink by an Artist....(which is actually what you are, save that your artistry is via a camera and your technique!)

This is remarkable, JM. So artistic. I agree with Joan...almost like an ink drawing. Love that little hint of pink.
