Today is Utah day… as I'm going back through some of the thousands of images made 12 years ago with a Sony 2.1 MP camera. I wish that I had more MP but back then, but I think the high count was just above 3 MP. Canon had just come out with the Canon 3D, which was a 3.1 MP sensor.

So I have been up-sizing these images and reducing noise which has greatly improved that camera's Carl Zeiss images.

These butte's are in expansive open areas where the wind and sand sculpture the landscape. I could do without the tracks left in the sand by the weekend warriors…but it is open land??

I was on my way to Capitol Reef National Park, after leaving Natural Bridges National Monument, to camp for at least a week, which ended up being 10 days. This park was really the best for camping because of the huge trees and a nearby creek, which kept the temps down, especially at night. I had passed several Buttes and later came back to them after getting a Park Map. They are located 5 miles east & north of the NP on Hwy 24.

I would love to go back to this park and spend at least 2 weeks with my 26 ft trailer camper. The hiking would be very questionable, but 95% of the images I made there were a very short distance from my truck.

I love huge open spaces like this, where there's no-one for miles, and the sky is massive. It just doesn't happen where I live...there'd be at least one town in a scape this size! As for the sky, I have to look up to see it. Fabulous landscape shot.
