Yes they are nice stamps. I have been collecting Canadian stamps for a long while now, I find them to be well designed and very attractive. It is unfortunate that, like so many postal administrations around the world, Canada Post prefers to issue labels and not stamps at their counters.

And Canada Post's rates are very high these days. A domestic letter costs USD $0.86 and sending a letter outside of the U.S. and Canada now costs USD $2.52. It's crazy. And they are moving to stop door-to-door delivery. Soon everyone would have to walk to a communal post box to pick up their mail. And Canada is a cold country with many many old folks : (

That's not too bad Swire a domestic letter in the UK is 62 pence, a smidgen under US$1 and international mail twice that much. No wonder letter writing is suffering. There is nothing I like better than a personal letter or post card falling on my front door mat especially one with a stamp. It is joy on paper!

Me too. There is something much more personal and intimate about a letter over email, plus one can keep the physical letter or postcard, but not an email.

I agree, I have a birthday card from the late 1950s addressed to my younger self, it came from an uncle who had emigrated to California in the 1930s, a five dollar bill. In those days the exchange rate was very favourable and I was extremely glad to get it, the money has long gone but the card and envelope remains.
I won't mention the many letters of a more personal and intimate nature!
