Miners Castle

Miners Castle
Located northeast of the Upper Peninsula town of Munising, Michigan, Miners Castle is considered by many to be the most famous and visited formation of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. Miners Castle takes its name from nearby Miners River and is comprised of several eroding caverns at the base with a steep sandstone wall leading to a crown-like rock structure at the top. There used to be two "turrets", but on April 13, 2006, the northeast turret fell into the lake after the rock slowly eroded and forever changed the look of the majestic Miners Castle.

A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
