Platanthera ciliaris (Yellow Fringed orchid)

Platanthera ciliaris (Yellow Fringed orchid)
The same day that I captured the Three-birds orchid images, I also drove farther into the Pisgah National Forest along a Forest Service Road. My friend, Neil Jacobs had told me about this area a few years ago, and I make it a point to visit the roadside site this time every year.

On this day, I found Platanthera ciliaris (Yellow Fringed orchid) and Spiranthes lacera var. gracilis (Southern Slender Ladies'-tresses orchid).
