This part of the island is one of the rainiest place of the world (more than 10m per year in average, several meters in a few days during hurricanes). This explains why the vegetation is so luxuriant.

Difficile de dire quelle hauteur ça faisait vraiment, le bas des plantes était en contrebas. Plusieurs mètres sans aucun doute. Tous est gigantesque ici, on a vu des fougères géantes, et des bambous de plusieurs dizaines de mètres de hauteur.
