A gorgeous new flower of the magnolia tree

A gorgeous new flower of the magnolia tree
Magnolia trees are absolutely stunning trees - I wish I had one in my garden - I did try to grow one but it didn't survive - yet the house on the other side of the road has a huge magnolia tree in its front garden.

Janet Brien, Gracie, Fred Fouarge, Frans Schols have particularly liked this photo

They're lovely trees. We had a small one in a previous house, down behind a shed.

You lucky thing - I did try to grow a tree a few years ago - but I wasn't successful. Yet the garden over the road, they do nothing to it, and every year it goes like this!!!!

How wonderful...I love magnolias too and never realized how many species and hybrids there are! Can you believe, over 200 kinds?! Here's a neat page that shows some of the tropical varieties...gosh, but aren't they lovely? toptropicals.com/html/toptropicals/articles/trees/tropical_magnolia.htm

Wow Janet - I've never seen all those flowers before - and to think they're called magnolias too. I couldn't see the kind of flower that is prevalent here in the UK, I'm so pleased that you like this picture.
