Coal Stores

Coal Stores
Back when the boilers at Letchworth Village devoured coal, this is where it was stored. Coal came in via rail, and hoppers were rolled out upon the trestle to the right and dumped. You can see three distinct unloading positions on the trestle with a forth one filled in by concrete. There was an additional one outside.

This enclosed space apparently is not original to the coal days. This structure appears to have been built after they stopped using coal. What it was used for after the coal era is unknown.
