Love your description of ghost mountain. I haven't been able to find out why they are so white. Probably to do with the sunshine and the type of rock which may be white quartzite. After a bit of research I've discovered they are granite with extensive scree slopes.

It was taken from Rum. I thought I was looking over to Mallaig but I've just found a Google photo of Elgol and the Red Cullin which looks very similar. Pleased to have sorted that out.
