Madagascar, larger than France, separated from the African part of initial unique continent Gondwana millions years ago; The Mozambique Canal 400 kms large separates the continent island from South Africa; The island has been ruled by local Queens the by the French and is now a Republic; Madagascar is reputed for its endemic flora and fauna unique in the world with NO dangerous animals as venimous snakes or great felins (some insects and plants can be poisonous and some imported Nile crocodiles exist); Local cooking is very fine and deeply influenced by the French one.
