This Gothic classified church was an ancient cathedral (up to 1790), built between 1155 and 1235; The original Roman cathedral was consecrated on 6 September 800 in presence of Empereur Charlemagne and is now a simple catholic roman church attached to Soissons diocese; France Hauts-de-France region Aisne Department of ancient Picardie Laon town heights.

Laon ex-cathedral Notre Dame is located top of a high hill and towers above the nice mediaeval town; This Carolingian cathedral is one of the rare to have 5 belfries (2 higher South and North belfries and a very large central lantern belfry) as this picture taken from lower quarters shows it; France Hauts-de-France region Aisne Department of ancient Picardie Laon town heights.
