The remains of an ancient volcano which has lost its softer cone of cinders by erosion; Only the hard lava extruded before its collapse is visible nowadays and it is very high and spectacular; Some sports men climb it but it is very dangerous as large tubes of lava collapse sometimes and also as it is said that in the meadow standing on top, there are many rattle snakes waiting the imprudent visitors; Perhaps a legend but rattle snakes are very frequent in the area! Fantastic shot - one of the best I have ever seen. We were there in 1977 or 78

Mother Nature has given so many outstanding wonders in the USA; A complete life should not be sufficient to picture all the offered beauties! Thank You dear Carol!
