ScanImage02b Turner Dark Righi

ScanImage02b Turner Dark Righi
Original is in the British Museum and measures 0,228 x 0,322 ; It has been painted around 1841; This larger water colour painting is a very difficult exercise and not a precise copy which is impossible; I used the same technics as Turner to make the fog, retrieving the white colour of paper by a delicate use of rasor blades; On a clear wall it looks like a real blue sapphire; The picture is a scanned slide but can give an idea of this very difficult work; Turner has painted it near Lucerne during one of his Switzerland trips and we have been there also to see the real Lucerne lake and Righi mountain; It is always one of my grand pieces present at home.
