PICT18044ac Holy Mount Athos
This extreme point of the continent in the Egean Sea rooms many isolated monateries famous all over the world; A curious cloud formation was visible on the top of the mountain making us think that Mt Athos is an active volcano but it is not and these clouds are just a coincidence! From wikipedia: Mt Athos is a mountain of Northern Greece; Reaching a height of 6,670 ft (2,033 m), it occupies Aktí, most Eastern of the three fingers of the Chalcidice Peninsula; It is the site of a semiautonomous republic of 20 monasteries and dependencies (skites); The holy mountain is only accessible by foot or by boat and ends the cape in majesty; Greece Macedonia Kalkidiki Akti Peninsula Mt Athos Self Ruling Religious District.

I was happy to take the sacred Mt Athos with the Greek flag in the picture and a seagull came to complete the scene! But the two white beginnings of the boat staircase are unwanted, I have to remove them, thank You for the milky way of stars on this Greece album and for the comment, Jacques
