Portrait of Antinous, the most beautiful ephebus selected by Emperor Hadrian as love partner and following him during his many campains. Antinous died in the Nile River in Egypt committing perhaps a suicide and became quite a god by Hadrian's adoration; Many statues have been erected in Greece on Hadrian's orders and presented nowadays in several places of Europe and outside Europe; Thasian marble, 130-138 CE. Found in Patras.Athens Archaeological Museum.
