Generally, when there are hills, castles are on top; This Loire chateau by opposition is not visible from the roadside, hidden in a hole of lush busch and surrounded by its hills of famous vineyards which produce the white world’s most famous Pouilly-Fumé wine; The amazing Chateau de Nozet which is located near the town of Pouilly has been built by the Lafond family in a Renaissance style during the 19 th century; The De Ladoucette family have owned and managed vineyards in the region since 1787 when the Comte Lafond purchased the region’s largest wine estate from Louis XV’s illegitimate daughter; The 6th generation Patrick de Ladoucette took over the vineyards and wine making in the early 1970s and was the first member of the family to concentrate exclusively on wine production and it is largely through his efforts that this estate now produces the finest wines of the region; Before the family had banking activities and some members have been governers of the Bank of France; To add a legend: Emperor Napoleon choosed this white wine as preferred while his choice for red wine was the also famous Gevrey-Chambertin; France Burgundy Nivernais Nozet Private Wine Castle.
