P9140925ac Beach Invaded by Toxic Green Seaweeds
It is a calamity expensive to treat! A horse died in 30 seconds with the gas emitted by these seaweeds in putrefaction; A daily harvest is needed to remove the 70.000 tons yearly invading this area due to heavy inland animal production and unusual high peaks of sea water temperature! This affects all the ecosystem putting in great dander fishes and birds! From other source: Some are attributing the algae outbreaks to global warming; Although this may indeed be a factor as our seas warm up, it is clear that excess nitrate rich fertilizers, along with animal wastes and poorly treated or untreated sewage, are the main villains; France Bretagne Region Côtes d'Armor Department Pink Granite Coast St Michel-en-Grève area.
