P4280641bc Rouen St Ouen Abbey Majesty
St Ouen Abbey main nave, great West facade rose and Grand Organ; We were in Rouen several times and this fantastic Abbey church, as large as a cathedral, was always closed; This year it has been the same and we had to take one more night in Rouen as I saw on a facade panel that the outstanding church was opened the day after; The grand organ is the last of a serie of 630 built in Europe by the great organists 's most appreciated builder: Aristide Cavaillé-Coll; The father of the genial Marcel Dupré, Albert Dupré was titular of this awesome instrument.; The instrument was inaugurated on April 17, 1890 by Charles-Marie Widor, a famous organist and composer who exclaimed, "This organ reminds me of Michelangelo... It is a muzzled lion...What power, what fullness!"; I have joined here the second movement of the Passion Symphony of Marcel Dupré improvised in Philadelphia USA: 'The World Waiting the Savior', a piece traducing the chaos where was living human kind before Christ arrival.
