Grand Organs of the World
PICT16554ec Amiens Cathedral Notre Dame Mediaeval Grand Organ and West Rose of the Sea
Half a day work to obtain that image corrected; The rose was all white as usual so I extracted one from another image, made it elliptic at pixel precion; The installation of the new rose made hidden the summit of the organcase central tower that I extracted and re-installed also!!! The stars of the blus ceiling below were quite not visible, in a too great darkness, I redraw all of it!!! Even if it is no perfect, it is an outstanding enhancing that I dedicate to Carol!!! We were so lucky when entering the Cathedral because an organ free concert with trumpet just began!!! This restored instrument (Cavaillé-Coll, 1889 / Roethinger, 1936) decorated with golden arabesques has been built in 1429 with 2,500 pipes at that time; Many restorations and enlargements were operated since its original version; It is crowned by the lovely west facade rose called Rose of the Seas; France Picardie Region Somme Department Amiens Capital Cathedral Notre Dame UNESCO World Heritage in 1981.
