The Portuguese School of Equestrian Art has been established since 1996 in the Royal Palace of Queluz. The school is in charge of 49 Lusitanian Alter do Real horses, raised in the Stud Farm of Alter, in Alto Alentejo, established in 1748 by João V of Portugal.
