question : " ...is he able to smile, or isn`t he ? "... please help - I don`t know ! 


Studien haben gezeigt, dass das Lächeln eine normale Reaktion auf bestimmte Stimulationen ist, die unabhängig von der jeweiligen Kultur ist. Es ist keine lernbare Reaktion, sondern wird den Menschen schon von Geburt an mitgegeben. Bei Tieren wird ein Lächeln oft als Drohung verwendet (die Zähne zeigen) oder aber als Zeichen der Unterwerfung.
Happiness is most often the cause of a smile. Among animals, the exposure of teeth, which may bear a resemblance to a smile, is often used as a threat or warning display - known as a snarl - or a sign of submission. In chimpanzees, it can be a sign of fear.
