Whitby

Whitby
This is a panoramic view of Whitby Abbey I took circa 1988 with my trusty Zenit E!

Despite taking a copious number of notes about every shot I took back then, I have no idea of the exact date this was taken, what the camera settings were, or even what type of film I had loaded in the camera!

I can't even find the negative - and, as you can see, my scanning abilities leave a lot to be desired!

However, the image serves its purpose, and can be used to illustrate my latest article - Do you shoot film? :)

A very scenic little town. There is an ambience with film that digital just can't capture.

Whitby is a lovely place, and so picturesque! A photographer's haven! I'm not so sure about not being able to capture the same ambience - I think it's all a matter of processing, whether in the developing tank, or at the computer! :)

I must get up to Whitby soon! Lovely image here, Ian.
I found my old film cameras recently and am tempted to push a roll of film or two through them but don't like the idea of having no control over the processing.

One of our favorite places, Ian. We've stayed in the youth hostel just to the right of the old abbey. This must have been taken from the main part of the town and the other side of the harbor.
