5/100 - White Heather

5/100 - White Heather
Shot number five in my 100x project contains the first bit of flora I've included from my own garden!

I have two small clumps of heather, both of which seem to like being drowned by the continuous onslaught of rain, as they look really healthy at the moment!

I've posted the purple variant many times before (on the other side), so I thought I'd go for the white version this time!

I've chosen to shoot images of flora on black as my 100x subject, which may sound like a bit of a photographic rut to get into! My latest article is about Photographic Ruts, and I'd like to know your opinion about them! :)

If you want to join in with the 100x project, take a look at the 100x: 2014 group! The only rules are that you shoot 100 images of an x of your choosing, and that all of the images must be taken in 2014!

Go on, give it a go, it's not too late to start - and you know you want to! :)

A very nice macro and the black background suits well. Now off to contemplate your article on photographic ruts. :)

Great shot! The black background is great! Do you need acidic soil to grow heather? I haven't heard of it being grown in gardens before.

Mine is growing in heavy clay, which, at the moment, is very moist! :)

I'm not sure what the pH is though...

Nicely done. I think the fact that you'll photograph all your flowers against a black background will give cohesion to the project.
