Pentax K1000

In all the rush and excitement of getting my chemicals to develop film delivered yesterday, and then the shooting and processing of a roll, I also had this little beauty delivered. A Pentax K1000 body that I purchased off eBay. I plopped on the 28mm wide angle lens I already owned and promptly photographed it on the kitchen counter! (Not my usual photo stand, but the lighting was nice there.) 3886nf

This was the first shot I took with my Pentax K1000 - you can even see a little light bleed on the left of the image indicating I didn't wind it quite far enough before taking the first picture. The bananas were lit by a flourescent fixture directly above them. This was taken with the 28mm wide angle lens without the Sears 2x tele-converter. This was the third shot I took with my recently acquired Pentax K1000. It only has a 28mm wide angles lens on it so far, but it does have a 2x tele-converter also. The image was taken at a gig I played at the Fairfield American Legion recently and this is my keyboards in the blue stage lights. This is how it looked out of the camera, without any Photoshop tricks. As a matter of fact, the shot never even passed through Photoshop and I didn't use "color correction" when I scanned it. The 800 speed Kodak film I used seems to have captured accurate coloring on these two different fruits. Not only that, I don't see much grain for such a fast film. It was the first time I'd ever used 800 ISO film and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I tried out some new film today in my Pentax K1000 - it was a relatively new company called Kentmere, out of Great Britain. This was some of their 35mm 100 ISO black and white film. There's a house about a block from mine that is surrounded by pine trees. I always love going past it. The trees smell so nice - so piney fresh! This is the bell that used to hang in the first Methodist Church ever built in Illinois. It was called Ebenezer Methodist Church and was organized on October 16th, 1838. In the 1980's, the old church was raized and the bell was moved here, to the Methodist Church in town.
