The French Alps

The French Alps
I bought some old slides in a Kodak carousel slide tray off eBay and the slides were listed inside the box as "Vacation 1970 - Athens to Congo." This one was taken somewhere in the French Alps. As seen in a comment below and thanks to another member here on Ipernity, this place is called "Aiguille Du Midi," which means "Needle Of The Midday."

It's kind of sad that I was able to buy these images because they should have been passed down to relatives. I assume the people who shot these vacation slides are probably dead by now, seeing as how it was 50 years ago. I noticed that the guy seemed to have been a pretty good photographer and the Kodak Kodachrome slides have held up excellently! They were probably Kodachrome 25. I thought they were too good to never be seen by anybody again, so that's why I posted it.

The photo is apparently taken from the Aiguille du Midi, near Chamonix in the French Alps. It is a place that I love very much. I really like old photos, so this one too. Thanks for sharing this little treasure.

Thanks, you are right! It was taken around the Aiguille du Midi area. In the Kodak Carousel tray where these slides are kept, there is a nearby slide close to the above image that was taken of a sign saying "Aiguille Du Midi," which means "Needle Of The Midday." Good catch! I should have added that myself.
