Sears KSX Super

Sears KSX Super
The back of my Sears KSX Super 35mm SLR. I need to get it fixed because the shutter is locked and it won't wind. I wonder who fixes these kinds of cameras these days?

Have you tried putting a little lighter fluid on the shutter? The other thing ... I have a camera that will do this when the battery is bad. It's not a Sears, but then Sears put their name on a lot of other makes. I forget which one it is, but I'll check when I get home. Does this one have a fresh battery in it?

Hey, thanks a bunch, Norm! It turned out that the battery was dead inside it. As soon as I put a couple fresh ones in it, it came to life and worked perfectly! I even think the meter's working accurately! This is great news, as it takes Pentax K-mount lenses and I have some from other cameras that will fit on it, in addition to the 50mm prime it came with.

Glad to hear it Kenny! I bet it's a Sears version of the camera I have at home.

I think they were actually made by Ricoh.

I know the one I have isn't a Ricon. I think it's a Minolta, but I can't be sure until I get home.

Being a huge Minolta camera lover, I'd like to see that one!

It turns out it's an Olympus OM-10 and not a Minolta. I suppose if I took it out and shot that roll of film in it ... I'd know! :-)
