The old bridge, Baslow
I was out in the wet plate wagon a couple of weeks ago, and ended up in front of this nice old bridge in the Peak District village of Baslow. Chocolate-box stuff, but the collodion process seems to add something. Strangely, nobody in the village batted an eyelid at the sight of a bloke wandering about in blue latex gloves with a caving torch on his head in the middle of the afternoon. Funny place. MPP 5x4, 6.5 inch Petzval lens set to number 4, exposure 4 seconds. Poor boy collodion, Lea's sugar developer.
