Gunnar and Varði having some fun :-) This photo was taken when we were discharging our fish outside Nouakchott in Mauritania. Gunnar is the Capitan on a same kind of ship as our ship and Varði is the chief engineer. -
Meet my parents :)
My mother Sigþrúður Ingigerður Gunnarsdóttir (try to pronouce that name) Dúa for short, and my father Jón Rafn Oddsón. My mother was born in 1931 and my father in 1926. -
Meet my oldest children :)
Jón Ágúst Gunnsteinsson was born in 1996 and his sister Sigþrúður Margrét Gunnsteinsdóttir, Sissú for short was born in 1984 :) -
Meet my youngest daughters :-)
Sara Kristín Gunnsteinsdóttir was born in 2003, and her sister Anja Laila Gunnsteinsdóttir was born in 2006. -
The Dance

Skiing :)
Skiing in Grouse Mountain in Vancouver. This was the first year we took our girls skiing. Sara got the hang of it in no time but Anja will need a little bit more time. -

Ferry leaves Agaete on its way to Tenerife. Agaete is a beautiful little town on the north west part of Canary Island. -

On the edge.
I was a little bit amazed to see how open this platform was and how unprotected the area was, considering how high and steep the hill was. I guess I am getting too used to see all the fences around similar places when I am traveling in Canada. I like it m… -
Nice view :)
This platform is very high in the mountain and the drop is nearly straight to the sea. The small town of Agaete is seen in the background. -
Nothing like Beverly Hills.
There is no road that leads to the houses in the middle of this hill so I can't imagine how it is living there. I guess taking out the garbage or running to the store for some eggs might take a while :-) -
Kids :-)
When I saw these kids I started to think about my own childhood and how it must be for these kids to growing up in a place like that. I felt sorry for them because they looked so lonely, but then I realized they had the sun all year around, the beach and… -
Architecture
The streets are narrow and steep. My guess is that most of the houses in the old town were built around old trails.
