Beautiful village and well recorded Roger, a typical English rural setting and I imagine a lot of history behind it. That large Oak stands prominent on the horizon and would instantly be missed should something happen to it.

The village including the church (images to follow) and many of the houses are centuries old while the village gains from not being on a main road so lives are not overly distubed by traffic. Thanks for the comments.

Roger, I LOVE THIS.... what a great view here of these buildings. That Blue door down the hill really stands out, the thatched roofs, that pink building...I love it all. a very neat, well kept area here Roger. Also the lovely hillside out beyond , and as Maurice noticed, the lone tree standing there so pretty on the hill... a great shot..... Sarah

It is a very old village with many houses to match but as you say it is beautifully well looked after which is a tribute to the residents and the Parish Council, the lovely old Oak tree was probably self seeded a long time ago, thank you for the excellent comments Sarah.

Roger (Grisly) club has replied to ©UdoSm club
Thank you Udo, yes they are we have more than 60,000 properties with thatched roofs in the United Kingdom the majority of these roofs are thatched with wheat, rye, or a "maslin" mixture of both.

Thank you Rosa, one of a number of lovely old villages in the area (more photos to come) we traveled on the WSR Carol Train for a number of years on one occasion we all tumbled out onto the platform here and soon as the band sturck up to Come all ye faithful a dog joined in and howled so loudly that one by one we all cracked up and just left the band playing.
