Lovely evening light...........especially where it's reflected on the water and some nice movement in the waves. The steps make great leading lines.

I hadn't realised that Burnham on Sea had two lighthouses, as you normally only see photos of the one in the PiP - perhaps because it's so unusual.

Thank you for the kind comments Keith, The land based lighthouse has been decommissioned and is now a private house although the beach lighthouse still provides a service to mariners.

I once went to Burnham-On-Sea (from London) on business to meet some clients who had just moved there (from Bridgwater). This was before internet and mobile phone days. I couldn't find the address I had been given and nor could I contact them by phone. Very annoyed, I went home. I found an ansafone message waiting for me, frustrated clients were very annoyed with me. They had been waiting for me all day.
It transpires (I think you may be ahead of the tale here, Roger!), that they had moved to Burnham-on-Crouch, Kent!
I lost a day's business but, worse, I lost some potentially valuable clients. 32 years on and a lifetime away, it still rankles! :o(
Moral of the tale? Assumptions are dangerous. Check all facts first!

Thank you Andy, goodness that's a long way from Bridgwater on a similar note I was sent to a shout to Cannington and couldn't find the vehicle after much searching I called it back and found the call handler had misheard and it was Kanning town in London.,

In the end we just have to put it down to experience and shrug it off! (I think that after 32 years I can just about bring myself to do so!).

Strange how things stay in the memory for years but ask me where I put my glasses 5 minutes ago and I will have no idea.

Thank you Henri, the steps are design to reduce the power of the waves before they hit the main sea defences, the huge tidal range and the Atlantic Ocean can be a powerful foe.
