On a Shout (pips)

On a Shout (pips)
The Eyemouth Trent Class all weather lifeboat "RNLB Barclaycard Crusader" off to a shout on an extremely low tide in fact there was not enough water under the boat for it to clear the harbour entrance without many minutes shunting and disturbing sand from under the keel (pip 1) before finally forcing itself free and into open water (pip 2)

Sounds very much like a job for the dredgers and a good piece of Roving Reporter. All the activity has raised spectator interest as well, Nice job Roger.

Thank you Maurice, it certainly seems that climate change is producing more and more very low tides

Superb series, Roger. Was it a temporary, extreme low tide, or does the extremely low water level, like elsewhere, have to do with climate change?
Roger (Grisly) club has replied to * ઇઉ * club
Thank you, really appreciated, the area has regular low tides but climate change certainly has an impact on levels.

An interesting series, Roger. The weather looks calm here, but have to wonder how it would be over that shallow bar if things became rough.

Roger (Grisly) club has replied to tiabunna club
Thank you George, this is the North sea so it often has rough weather but fortunately its not often tides get this low.

What a nice presentation. I guess "on a shout" is the same as "on a call" in the US...I hope it wasn't serious!

Your pictures are great, I loved the PiPs too, especially the sand being swirled about. Very nice story telling, thank you!

Strangely enough all the emergency service use the expression "on a shout" and I believe the inshore boat that had gone ahead dealt with the incident, especially low tides ins't something that occurs often,
Thank you Janet I really appreciate your interest and comments.
