Baptizing my grandson

27 Aug 2023 31
I had the unique privilege of being able to baptize my oldest grandson recently in a little country creek. It’s an experience I’ll never forget. Because of the height difference, I had to get him to stand in the deeper part of the water while his father and I stood on each side.

Moving is not only a hassle physically, but it often comes with a bit of an emotional toll as well. Other than Kolton and Blue, this is the only house my grandkids have ever known. Everyone has fond memories of this place and the great times they’ve had here, but, as it is sometimes said, “all good things must eventually come to an end.” Ahead lie new adventures at an even larger house with lots of acreage to explore and enjoy. “Goodbye, old house. You’ve served us well. We’ll miss you.”

Columbia, SC. Pensacola, FL, Omaha, NE, Kansas City, KS, or someplace else. I really can't remember where this photos was taken. lol. Meanwhile, i'm waiting for a Fazoli's location to be completed in my area. While the construction in my area is finally underway, the progress is slow. In the meantime, I have to drive 100 miles to get to my nearest Fazoli's.

My new grandson. And as a side note, my four year old granddaughter assisted in capturing this for us. (Not bad a bad job for four years old. lol)

Just a bit of snow while on my road trip in Kansas City. It was the "right kind" of snow: just enough to be beautiful, but not enough to cause any power outages or accidents.

I noticed this interesting creation on display in the examination room of my local physician. I couldn't resist grabbing a quick shot of it before he returned to the room.

Stand off

He stood there about a minute looking at me. I stopped my car in the road, staring back at him, waiting to see what he’d do. Finally, as he continued to stand motionless, I decided I should grab my cell phone and shoot as I began to approach him in my car. After a few seconds he surprised me and ran toward me, veering off to the left, where I finally saw his mother waiting. Once he joined her, they both disappeared, faster than you can click your fingers. I’m thankful to have witnessed this rare glimpse of deer in my neighborhood. I was having a bad day. This experience changed my whole outlook for the rest of the afternoon. It’s an experience I’ll remember for some time.

A popular feature of the iPhone is "Live Photos" whereby a still is taken with a short .mov file attached. You can look at the photo, or hold your thumb or finger on the photo on your screen and watch the picture "come alive" with the video tied in with it. You can look at the photo, or hold your thumb or finger on the photo on your screen and watch the picture "come alive" with the video tied in with it. This short video clip was too good not to show, so I uploaded the .mov associated with the picture. The picture (below) is fine, but its much more fun to watch the action and hear her little squeal of delight in going down the slide.
